The Time Ahead

It took a while for the colonists to become disenchanted with the King.  There were a series of injuries and many years before the Declaration was written.  Once the Declaration was published the colonists faced a long bloody war.  Combatants and non-combatants suffered.  To add to the difficulty only about half the colonists wanted revolution.  The other half remained loyalists.  It was practically a revolution and a civil war.

The American revolutionary era began in 1763

Groups of colonists began to create Committees of Correspondence in 1772

Colonies mobilized their militias, and fighting broke out in 1775

The Second Continental Congress to adopt a Declaration of Independence in 1776

The British surrendered their second invading army of the war in 1781

The Constitution was ratified in 1788.

The Democrats take the House and the Senate.  Barack Obama is elected President in 2008

Obamacare is signed into law by President Barack Obama on March 23, 2010.

The informal TEA party decimates the Democrats and re-takes the House in November 2010

The election of 2012...

  1. Whittle did a better than usual job with this one.
He makes a good point, that what we are losing is a quality difficult to articulate, he calls it "actual tangible freedom"
I have an associate who heartily supports O'Care. She has several stories about people who were denied care by the greedy insurance companies. I tell her that care will still be denied, only the motivation will be different.
    She can't hear me.
If there were any chance O'Care would make life better in America, I might sit back. However the little bit of improvement that might occur, has already incurred an intangible loss (trust), and we stand to lose so much more in the future. It is a price too high.
The reason she and I are in opposition is that she can't see what she is throwing on the trash heap and I do. What kind of jerk would I be if I watched her and others do so and said nothing?
