Mysterious Obama Visit.

The City of Grand Junction and Mesa County are so Republican that the Dems seldom bother to run anyone for a local office.

It is a slam dunk that Mesa County will overwhelmingly vote for Romney.  Why is Obama coming for a campaign stop today (8/8/2012)?

Could it be that the toss-up state of Colorado is so necessary to the Obama strategy that team O cannot give up a single Colorado vote?

UPDATE: Another thought - what will this visit do to my little hometown.  Everything Obama has touched, so far, has turned to crap.  Recovery Summer x3. Jobs, jobs, jobs.  Solyndra green energy.  The Mid-east.  General Motors.....

Update 2: Will the Obama campign stick the City of Grand Junction with a huge unpaid bill?

  1. My heart goes out to the good people (victims) in Grand Junction. I hope EVERYBODY stays home, behind locked doors! This too will pass!

    1. I'm going to be out there in the 99 degree heat to join all the folks who protest his coming to our fair city and to remind him to get his resume ready, as we-the-people want our [White] House back.

It will not pass quickly enough for me. his planned trip has been the subject in the news for several days now and I suspect we will not hear the end of it for a long time.

  3. I wonder who pays the landing fee at Walker Field....?

  4. There aren't enough democrats in Mesa County to fill a broom closet. I feel sorry for the poor folks who have to take the five-hour bus ride from Denver in order to half fill the gym at GJHS.

Mouse. Fart. Hurricane. Some assembly required.

I find it rather appalling that these "poor folks" would have nothing better to do! Does attending a B.O. rally constitute the substitution of actual 'work' per B.O.'s revised Welfare Plan? I feel sorry for all of the rest of us!

  6. Make him pay the Full Estimated Costs up front and then apply for a refund if he can show costs were lower.... sounds like taxes, eh?

    1. Excellent idea! And...couldn't the data from the cities that have been stiffed be made into a commercial to shame his campaign into paying up? More than his 16 trillion debt, these kinds of "personal finance" things would tarnish his image to the average American.

  7. Someone told me that the bam was here an hour before he was supposed to be and left when he was supposed to get here. Traveling in secret.

    1. Yep, pretty close to the times, etc. Some people considered it a security discretion.
I was surprised that he only spoke for about an half hour. The folks who attended put in hours and hours to get to go. They were dedicated.
A black hawk helicopter circled the downtown area for about 20 minutes before the President arrived. I wonder what was the security purpose for that?

    2. The chopper was looking for a Walmart. Ran outta dog food. Not for the dog... Obimbo ate him. Dog food was for Obimbo.

  8. Perhaps B.O. couldn't wait to get to South Korea for the Grand Opening of Pup-fil-A !

  9. Will we ever find out if the bam campaign stiffed GJ, or was this trip considered presidential business rather than a campaign stop.

    1. Maybe the City or the County records that info (costs charged to the campaign) somewhere.

    2. Good luck on finding THAT information, too.
