American Freedom

The current debate about "gun control" (or as it really is - "people control") is worrisome.  One might think that even Obama would not be so arrogant as to place executive order over the Second Amendment and the Constitution.  But then he did just that with the First Amendment and his order that there is no religious exemption for Obamacare particulars.  He has decided that only he and his minions can define what religious expression is and if you don't agree with him it's of no concern to him.

Here are a few articles I think are worth reading.

Guns and freedom
The right of the people to keep and bear arms is an extension of the natural right to self-defense and a hallmark of personal sovereignty. It is specifically insulated from governmental interference by the Constitution and has historically been the linchpin of resistance to tyranny. And yet, the progressives in both political parties stand ready to use the coercive power of the government to interfere with the exercise of that right by law-abiding persons because of the gross abuse of that right by some crazies in our midst. Paraphrasing Charles Krauthammer

The right of self defense and gun ownership predate the Republic. The point of having an American government is to secure that right - not infringe it.

Dean Garrison provides a well-reasoned and impassioned argument for defending the liberty of this Republic with all necessary lethal force against those who would undermine both the Constitution and natural rights.

  2. When asked by Xerxes to lay down his arms, Leonidas not only said, "Come and take them." he also said:
"If we are to be your allies, we will need our weapons. If we resist you, we will also need our weapons. As for the better lands you promise, our fathers taught us to gain land by means of courage, not cowardice." ttp://www.oldnewspublishing.com/xerxes.htm
