Good Read

There is not much on TV (except for Justified) and politics is a well of disappointment.  What to do?  Cook and read.

I recently came across a series of books by Nelson DeMille.  The feature a first person account of a NYPD detective named John Corey.  The first in the series is Plum Island.  Det. Corey does such a good job he re- appears in a whole string of books. I recently finished the last one titled The Panther. In the series Det. Corey moves from his job as a NYPD officer to a position on the FBI Joint Anti-terrorism Task Force. The books contain lots of wise-cracking action and good stories.
